This year is going to be epic, I can feel it. We have begun renovations… finally!!! A New Year and a New House.
DEMO DAY IS HERE!! Subscribers got a sneak peek last week, and if you that follow along on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, then you’ve seen some pics! Ahhhhhh, we were so excited. It was a long, long, long road to get to this point, and at times we didn’t think we would get here. We changed financing three times, only to (sort of) end up where we started. We also changed our contract a lot and nailed down big items like plumbing before closing on our loan.
Homestyle loan closing
Ryan and I plan on sharing everything it took to get to this point, in the near future. We both look at each other all the time and say, “No one should have to go through what we’ve been through.” We aren’t made of money, and we wanted to pick the lowest interest option, with a few penalties as possible. We did it, we got it, and hopefully, the rest is HISTORY!
Ok, back to the house!!!
We closed on our loan the Tuesday before Christmas, then we were out of town a week visiting family. We got back home New Years Day, and the contractors started on Wednesday the 3rd!

So what are we doing??
Here is a break down of the construction list
– New master suite added to the side of the house
– Take down the walls that separate the kitchen, living, and entryway
– Tear down the back of the living room and rebuild, with new header
– Give the back bedrooms and bathrooms a facelift
– New kitchen
– Expand laundry room and add a sink
– Finish out 3 car garage/workshop
-Backyard barn
….and that’s about all for phase one…. hahaha! In phase two (in the future) we plan to add a covered front porch, circle drive out front and backyard kitchen.

Being the avid DIYer, and Ryan an engineer and my handy sidekick, we are doing most of the interior facelift ourselves. We found an amazing contractor to help with structural items including the master room addition, and rebuild the back of the living room that’s falling down.
I can’t wait to get all these projects started, I can’t wait to see it all come together, I can’t wait to finally get the MARKET online, and most importantly, I can’t wait to share it all with y’all.
I think this will be THE BEST YEAR YET!
