We are one week into our Garage Mudroom with Jeffery Court. This week was all about selections and cleaning. Here’s what we did!
Welcome back! First things first… clean! To say our house and garage are a mess is an understatement. It’s been a disaster since we’ve started out major construction eight months ago.
We’ve had to move rooms around monthly, shuffling our furniture and belongings into any free space we could find. One of these free places is the garage! We have everything from appliances to sheetrock, furniture to light fixtures, etc…

After we got the area cleaned and vacuumed, we mapped out where the plumbing needed to be for the vintage sink. Then had the hot, cold, and drain plumbed out. Also, we moved the refrigerator to the other wall, to make space for the large vintage sink.

Cleaning is necessary, but not all that fun.
Let’s get to the fun!
The best part of the week… SHOPPING!
Jeffery Court’s website was the place to start. We decided on the Basalt line of tiles, specifically the Hudson Basalt Mosaic for the floor and the Basalt 4×16 Subway for a chair rail on the walls. It’s the perfect industrial look, and the parquet pattern on the Hudson floor tile will give the whole space a more modern feel.

Next I did my thing and hit Craislist, my favorite online store!
I can find almost anything on Craigslist, see how I do it HERE and HERE. I found the exact sink I was looking for in Baytown (not too far outside Houston), and the vintage lights in Northwest Houston. They are in excellent condition, just need a little cleaning… ahhh more cleaning!

Next week our goals are to make a concrete step for the door, get the sink cleaned up, build the rustic stand for the sink, paint, and hopefully start laying tile.
I’m super excited for my tile selections to come! We also need to order the faucet for the sink and pick out some other accessories for the space.
